The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation is currently working with New York State Office of Parks to establish a "Adopt a Bench" Program for the Nissequogue River State Park.

Along the Kings Park Boulevard there are the remains of many benches which at one time would provide a resting place for staff and residents of the Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Most of these benches are unusable and must be replaced.

We hope in the near future to enable friends of the Nissequogue River State Park to purchase replacement benches and dedicate that bench to a loved one with the placing of a brass dedication plate.

The image above list the locations of the benches which the Nissequogue River State Park Foundation believe are in most need of replacement. Just click on the letter to view the current condition of the bench.
